6-DAY WUDANG RETREAT
Into the Mountain
A first experience of Wudang practice, culture and mountain life.
Six days is enough to begin.
To wake with the mountain. To experience Tai Chi beyond the image of it. To sit in stillness, walk ancient paths, share tea, and begin to understand the rhythm behind Wudang practice.
Designed as a gentle entry into the living traditions of Wudang, this retreat is for those who are curious to experience the mountain — without needing previous experience or a long commitment.

A Meaningful First Step
WHY SIX DAYS?
You do not need a month to begin experiencing Wudang differently.
Six days gives you time to move beyond simply seeing the mountain. You begin to practise, to understand the rhythm of the days, to meet the people behind the tradition, and to experience moments of stillness for yourself.
It is intentionally designed as an introduction — deep enough to feel meaningful, yet accessible for travellers who may be visiting Wudang, China, or Tai Chi for the first time.
Come curious. Leave with something you can carry with you.

THE PRACTICE
Begin with the Body
For many guests, Wudang begins with movement.
Through Tai Chi, Qigong, standing meditation and traditional martial arts foundations, you begin to notice balance, coordination, breath and attention in a different way.
The goal of six days is not to collect techniques or master a form.
It is to experience how practice feels — and to understand why people have returned to these traditions for generations.
BEYOND THE PRACTICE
Experience Wudang Beyond the Training Ground
Wudang is not understood through practice alone.
The mountain, its temples, tea, calligraphy, Daoist ideas, meals, conversations and quieter moments all create context for what you are learning.
During the six days, selected cultural experiences offer different ways to encounter the living traditions of Wudang.
Tea
A slower way of gathering and paying attention.
Temples & Sacred Places

Calligraphy & Traditional Arts
Exploring attention through another form of practice.
Daoist Philosophy
Beginning to understand the ideas behind balance, softness and stillness.
Mountain Life

Still have questions?
If you're wondering whether six days is right for you, tell us what you're looking for and we'll be happy to help.
-
No. The 6-Day Retreat is designed to be accessible to complete beginners as well as guests with some previous practice. You will begin with the foundations and progress according to your own level.
-
The retreat includes daily movement practice and time exploring the mountain, but it is not designed as a fitness boot camp. Practice can be adjusted according to experience and physical ability. If you have an injury or mobility limitation, please let us know before booking.
-
Six days is designed as an introduction rather than a complete course. It gives you enough time to experience the foundations of practice, encounter Daoist culture and begin to settle into the rhythm of Wudang. If you're looking for greater repetition and depth, the 21-Day or 30-Day retreats may be a better fit.
-
After your booking is confirmed, we'll send you a practical pre-arrival guide covering clothing, footwear, weather, packing and travel preparation.
-
Absolutely. The 6-Day Retreat works especially well as part of a wider journey through China. We can provide practical guidance for reaching Wudang, while travel before and after the retreat is arranged independently.
Your First Step Into Wudang
Six days is not about mastering everything.
It is about entering the mountain, beginning the practice, and seeing what opens from there.
